The Report Templates Explorer

A report template is a predefined Excel spreadsheet created for reporting. The Report Templates Explorer contains a collection of reports arranged in groups, and allows you to create and manage the templates. Groups can include reports of different types. The Report Templates Explorer node types are explained in the table below.

Icon Node Type
The folder icon Report Group. A folder where individual report templates are stored.
Standard Report icon Represents a Standard report stored in the library.
One Line Report icon Represents a One Line Summary report stored in the library.
Variance Report icon Represents a Variance report stored in the library.
One Line Summary Variance Report icon Represents a One Line Summary Variance report stored in the library.

Grayed-out icons below CASH reports represent financial reports which are available only to users of PalantirFINANCIALS.

If you right-click on a node, the context menu will be displayed. The list of menu options changes according to the nature of the selected item and its position in the hierarchy. The complete list of options for the Report Templates Explorer is shown in the table below.

Menu Item Function
Add Group Adds a new group of report templates.
Rename Group Renames the selected report templates group.
Delete Group Deletes the selected report templates group.
Add Template Adds a new report template.
Rename Template Renames the selected node.
Edit Template Opens the selected report template in Excel for editing.
Delete Template Deletes the selected node.
Permissions Opens the Permissions window for the selected item (see Item Permissions).
Cut Cuts the selected node and its sub-nodes, and stores them in the clipboard.
Copy Copies the selected node and its sub-nodes, and stores them in the clipboard.
Paste Inserts the clipboard contents into the selected node.
Refresh Reloads the contents of the selected node after changes have been made.
